The Power Of A Mistake

Many people are afraid to make mistakes because they think it's not good to make a mistake and that means they've failed and are not up to certain standards. But it doesn't mean that way.

Making a mistake actually has a positive side (not always the negative side that's attached to it). It makes you dig deeper into the area where you made that mistake and thus discovering other new stuff that you never knew about and also gaining more knowledge on how to fix your mistake.

But unfortunately many people don't see it through this perspective glass and so they hesitate to take steps in their lives, business, or whatever area a matter arises cos they are scared to make a mistake and it's going to cause them to fail. But there's no such thing as failure. It's just results that you didn't like. It's just like what I said about problems. They are just events that we didn't like. But it's we who see it as a failure. But there's no such thing as failure.

Also it must be noted that it takes some form of mistake to get to the destination called success. But that's all part of what makes the journey fun. The whole thing is not about the destination. It's about the fun you have through the journey's duration, the experiences you gain, what you learn, and how smart you become through that. That's the true gain and benefit. The success is just a bonus added unto you. It's just like the cherry on top of the cake. The journey is the cake and the success is the cherry :).

So don't fret or worry about making mistakes. If you actually make a mistake be happy cos that means it's time for exciting things to be learnt and also time to find the answer to your mistake. You know when you a mistake or don't get something and you finally get an answer to it or finally understand it, you know how it feels right? It feels so great and the feeling is just so amazing and just indescribable. Now if you can get all this wonderful feeling and learn all these wonderful stuff just from making a mistake. Why fret making a mistake or failure. Don't fret!!

Being Okay With Who You Are

Everybody was born different and unique. No human being is the same as the other. Not even twins or triplets or all the other lets :). But seems that society fails to notice this and have set a norm or some set of unconscious regulations about what is right about human beings and what are not right about them in terms of appearance, behaviour, and everything that's got to do with living as a human being. And so this has made it hard to live the way you are and also accept who you originally are. And it makes you want to be what society considers a norm but that's wrong. However you are, whoever you are, you've got to love it and accept it that way.

I know that most of you struggle with this and I used to do but I've worked on it and it's left with some small deal to work on and I know I will definitely get there with God's help, surely I will!!

An example of this is someone feeling low about him or herself, if he or she is overweight. Yeah, being overweight is bad. And it's bad because it's not healthy and not because it's not beautiful or anything. Don't feel low or sad about yourself because you look ugly being overweight. You are beautiful. You are comparing yourself to other people and the societal norms that's why you feel that way. If you stop comparing, you'll feel good and great about yourself and also gain a lot of confidence as a person.

Now, I have a video below that complements what I'm saying. It's of someone I really admire in my life and he really inspires me greatly in my life. Any message I get from him kicks me off my butt all the time to do something in my life. He's a really great inspiration :). He's called Paul V Harris.

Even though Paul's body was burnt 85% due to a car accident. He's not given up or anything. He's actually the opposite. And he's inspiring people to take action in their lives and move forward. To me he's a great man. Paul, you are a great man!!! :)

Now, if you aren't taking action in your life because of something that happened to you in your life or because of what someone thinks of you, then you are doing the wrong thing. Because you shouldn't let something that happened to you in your life bring you down. You are stronger than that thing. You have to get out of your comfort zone and face that thing. Because so far as you stay in your comfort zone you'll never grow or move forward and you'll always be smaller and weaker than your problem. But if you move out of your comfort zone and face your problem, you'll be able to overcome and then you'll be bigger and stronger than your problem So the next time a problem comes you'll be strong and bold enough to face it without fear and also overcome it :).

If Paul is moving on with his life and is doing it, You can do it. If I'm moving on with my life and I'm doing it, You can do it!! Have a great day :)).

If you faced a similar situation where you weren't okay with who you were and have been able to move on and overcome, please share it with us below. Also share any thoughts you have on this post with all of us here.

You can get in touch with Paul on his website DrInspiration.com and on Twitter at @PaulVHarris. You can also get in touch with me by using my Facebook and Twitter links below :).

Why Should You Live Life By Your Own Standards?

A week or so ago, I talked about living life on your own standards. Now, that time I only talked about what you become when you live life on someone else's terms and generalized about why you should live life on your own terms. So today I'm going to talk about the reasons why you should live life on your own terms. I got the idea of this post when I was talking to a friend who's like a younger brother to me about living life on his own terms and he asked why he should. I was a bit surprised why he would ask that but I figured not everyone knows the reason why he or she should, even though it might seem obvious to some of you.

So Why Should You Live Life By Your Own Standards Or Terms?

Because

  • You don't want to live a life of regret: Lets say maybe you are a guy and you want to study culinary stuff in college because that's what you love. It's your passion and that's what your life is all about. That's what you picture yourself doing all the rest of your life. And your friends, family or those around you tell you that maybe only girls do culinary and only boys who are dorks do it. Now, because you don't want to look like a dork in front of your friends and the world, you leave what you love and go do maybe law or medicine which is all so not dork for you and you live every minute of your life regretting in silence. And what does this bring you? A whole lot of worry, you can even die before your time because a lot of worry can make you sick and it can kill too. You will always live your life like a prisoner looking for an escape, just like the "Prison Break" movie (featuring Wentworth Miller), and I know you wouldn't want that. And actually no human deserves that kind of life. That's not the way you were supposed to live. If God wanted things that way he wouldn't have created us at all cos he wants everything to be beautiful, wonderful, and perfect. He's all about beauty and wonder. But this kind of life is beyond total ugliness.
  • You were sent here for a mission: Everybody here on earth was sent here to fulfill a mission but some don't do this. They live lives so far and different from what they were supposed to come and do here making the journey not worthwhile and meaningless. I was reading Oprah's article yesterday and she was talking about this very thing of being sent here for a mission. She was saying that she believes she was sent here for a mission and I believe that too. Everybody was sent here for a mission. So you don't want to disappoint God/universe by doing what others tell you or in other words letting others run your life for you. It's your life you have to be the pilot of your life not the passenger. It's really so very senseless to be the passenger of your own life, your own, oh come on..
  • You are here to inspire or affect someone's life positively: You were brought here not to only live and fulfill a mission but also to touch or affect someone's life positively. I feel so great and energetic and often times almost about to cry (on positive terms though) when someone tells me that I inspire them or have helped them in some way by sharing all the messages I share here on life. It's great to hear someone say that about you and what you are doing. And it makes you want to do more. It's gives you a spark of motivation. Now that's a kind of life that you want. Not one where you are treated like a puppet like I mentioned in the previous post.
  • You are here to leave a legacy behind: Just like the one where you affect someone's life positively, you leave a legacy behind when that person remembers you from the heart that "John was the one who touched me and made me get this big breakthrough in my life". That's a legacy you've left behind. You don't necessarily have to go into the Guinness Book Of Records, no, that's not the only to leave a legacy behind.
  • You were brought here to have fun: The finally point I'm going to talk about is fun. You were brought here to explore this wonderful place and have fun. Fun, fun, fun. Not worry worry worry and puppet puppet puppet. No! Explore, Discover, Live Life On Your Own Terms, And Have Fun!! Lots Of It!! :D :)) ;)
So these are my reasons. I know, I have others there but these are what I thought of giving you guys today :). I know you guys have a lot of reasons in your mind that you can share too. Please do so in the comments area below. Thanks :). Stay blessed. Always live your best life and never ever give up! :)

Being Appreciative Doesn't Mean You Should Limit Yourself

Being appreciative of what you have doesn't mean you shouldn't yearn for more or reach for higher heights.

Are You Living By Their Standards Or Your Standards?

About a week and a half ago I wrote about living life on your own terms (make sure you read this cos it compliments this post) in my Facebook pages notes. But I've decided to talk about it here and also expand on it more here since - obviously - not everyone is a fan of my Facebook page. You can like my Facebook page here to receive my daily quotes and inspirational short messages that I post and also all the things that I read on other blogs relating to personal development.

Now, onto today's topic. Some people don't live or are still not living their lives on their standards, they are rather living their lives on people's standards that they (the people) have set for them. I used to live this way. It is was actually all my life. I just changed two months ago, in August. Even though it's a short notice. I've learnt a whole lot and have a whole lot of experience dealing with that kind of stuff - living life on your own terms.

So if you are a fan of my Facebook page, you would have noticed that I talk about people being happy and living life on their own terms...well that's the reason why I tend to talk about that stuff a lot because I went through this for 18 and half years and I'm 18 and half and some months old, so check..

Now, living life on someone's terms or conditions may sound insensitive or stupid to someone who is conscious on how he or she lives, it might not sound or look insensitive or stupid to the person who is practicing this unfortunate kind of lifestyle.

When you live your life on someone elses terms
  • You make God sad because he sent you here to fulfill a mission and then you come here and throw everything you came here for away and become someone's living puppet, whiles you are not Elmo or the Cookie monster. Even they have their rights to say what they want and do what they want except through someone cos they are the real puppets. What's the sense in life if the real puppets even enjoy life more than you do? Think about that.
  • You become a puppet because you don't know what your real life purpose is and you are just running through life like a robot with a battery in it. Just running around till the battery dies or till the engineer stops you. This is a pathetic form of life which no one must lead, seriously.
  • It affects your health unconsciously without you knowing. Giving you stress and all kinds of other diseases. Cos you'll tend to think of your life being miserable and thinking a lot only brings you loads of sicknesses and stress.
  • You ruin the opportunity you were given here to live and come and do something worthwhile for the human race and the world as whole. You don't leave any legacy behind. You just die and go as a statistic.
There are many more reasons that I can raise but it will take a whole book to write all that unless maybe I'm writing a book, which I know I will but this is certainly not it :).

So all I'm trying to say here is that, live your life on your own terms. Do what fits you. I'm not talking about illegal stuff. Obviously it's legal stuff that I'm talking about. Don't do something because someone is doing it or because you're worried about people going to ridicule you. Let them worry about ridiculing you. Don't worry about that. They are the pathetic ones not you. Because they don't know the essence of life and you do. And you are living it, having fun. Living it on your own terms. Whiles they aren't. They come outside and see you and ridicule you but I'm sure when the go inside they get sad about how pathetic and sad their lives are. So don't mind anyone and go about your life like it's nobody's business because it's certainly is nobody's business :)).

Have a great day :)). Share your thoughts on the post below. If you've been through something similar, or have something to add to what I've shared, just anything you have to say concerning this post, please share it below. Thanks :).

Letting Go And Letting God

Sometimes somethings seem so impossible to us or we don’t know how to go about somethings. Now, this is where you as a human have to let go and let God, the higher power handle this for you. If you don’t believe in God, you just have to let go and let the universe help you.

For example say you need $50, 000 to do something but you don’t know where or how you’re going to get that kind of money in say a month. But if you let go and let God without using your own strength which in matters like this can get you nowhere, opportunities come in from unexpected directions and means that make you get that $50, 000. Or somebody might even come to you and give you $50, 000 as a gift. Impossible? Not to me. Cos I believe that everything is possible. Everything that is called a thing is possible.

Three days ago, I was having a tough time on how to go about tackling some things that I want to be done in my life but don’t know how. The tough time I was having was that I couldn’t really let go and decide that okay I’m going to let God or the universe handle everything for me now. Guess it was ego or something. Cos just keeping quiet about something that is going on and saying okay I’m going to let God, isn’t something that is really easy to do, right? Yeah, so I was having a hard time. But I was able to make a final decision and let go and let God, yeah, finally. And after that it’s been all great and amazing. I’ve been stress-free and feel so free and relaxed and very happy than I did when I wanted to tackle all things by myself.

So How Do You Do This Letting Go And Letting God?

Well, it’s not easy at first, I will admit that. But when done continuously without stop or giving up, you become really good at it and in the long run perfect at it. It’s a habit and a habit takes time to become a habit, right? Yeah.

So to do this, when any problem arises or anything that you can’t tackle arises, just tell God in your head, or through speech or prayer (any means you find comfortable) that you can’t do this and that he should do that particular thing for you, meaning you are giving sole responsibility of the thing being done to Him. And then don’t think about what you asked God again. And don’t worry about it again too. Now, you’ll see the wonders you’d get when you do this. You’ll be totally surprised. You’ll also feel so free, happy, relaxed, and stress-free when you do this. So it helps your health too). Now, before you get all bouncy here. You must have patience a lot, because if you don’t, you’ll always go back to thinking about it and when God or the universe is going to work it out for you and it won’t work that way. You have to believe that God or the universe can and will do that for you.
If you don’t believe in God too, just use the same approach I talked about with the God one and remember to have a lot of patience here too. Just the same approach but no God in here but rather your higher power. Or if you are an atheist, then substitute God with the universe. That’s all.

And here's a wonderful poem to compliment the whole message I've shared today. I found this poem on Priya's blog three days ago. It talks about letting go and letting God. It will help you get clear on letting God and it will also strengthen and inspire you to do so :).

Are you in a battle?
Facing the enemy everyday
Your efforts seems so puny
And the enemy seems to be getting larger by the day.
You are holding on to your courage,
You are holding on to your faith,
The duration seems endless,
Your battle seems so pointless.
A million doubts rise within you,
Can I make it to the finish line?
And a voice within you claims
The battle is not yours its mine!
Try as hard as you can,
On your own strength you won’t go far,
Lean on me and I will make you
Wear the victor’s crown.
Because you need to understand
That the battle belongs to the Lord!

So how do you handle your matters? Do you let a higher power like God or whoever you serve or the universe handle the problems that are more than you or you do it yourself with your own mind and power?
